How long should your partial dreads be?

How long should your partial dreads be?

Every day we get the same questions. And this particular question is so regular that it gets its own blog post. Let's welcome the most frequently asked question of all time:
"How long should the dreads be if I want them as a partial look? I don't want to order the wrong length."

Sometimes all the options you get are just too much. 30-35cm. How many inches is that? Is that enough? My hair is shoulder length. Should I order longer? Will it look silly if it's too long?

So many questions. But let me tell you how to easily find out what length you need.

Fast and easy

All you have to do to be 100% sure you are not ordering the wrong length is measure the hair length where you want to braid the dreads. When it comes to partial looks, we usually choose the lowest section of our hair. the neck area. Usually we take around 10 SE/20 SE or 10 DE/15 DE.
To get just a few dreads in, we braid them in section 1 (picture). For more accents, we braid the dreadlocks in section 1 and section 2 (picture). Both sections have an average length of 6 cm. Together. Each could be about 3 cm long.

Now to measure the right length, we need to make sure how many dreadlocks we want. And how many sections.
If we only take section 1, we measure from point A (picture) to the ends of our own hair. Let's say we measure 20 cm. Then we add 5 cm to make our dreadlocks look good. And there we have 25 cm to choose from to order our dreadlocks.
If we want both sections we need to measure from point B (picture) to the ends of the hair. We now measure 23 cm. Then we add our 5 cm again and we have 28 cm. It is best to select 30 cm. Then we can have a beautiful natural look. If the required length is not available, you can contact us at any time.

And that's it. Easy and fast.
I hope this helps you figure out what you need. If there are any questions, let me know in the comments below. ^^
